TOXNET Resources (databases on toxins, environmetal health and chemicals)

TOXNET is an information database maintained by the US National Library of Medicine (Direct Link). TOXNET contains links to several different databases containing information on toxic releases, hazardous chemicals and environmental health. These separate databases include, but are not limited to the following:

1. The Hazardous Substances Database. Data on over 5,000 hazardous chemicals. HSDB

2. TOXLINE. Bibliographic database on the biochemical, pharmacological, physiological and toxicological effects of drugs and other chemicals. TOXLIN

3. ChemlDplus. Dictionary to over 400,000 chemical, chemical names and chemical structures. ChemlDplus

4. DART. The Developmental toxicological literature. DART

5. TOXMAP. A mapping tool for toxic releases. TOXMAP

6. Haz-Map. Mapping tool and database for occupational toxins. HAZ-MAP

7. ALTBIB. Alternative to animal testing references. ALTBIB
